JointWise is a patient education and triage experience offered in connection with Desert Orthopedic Center. This page describes how information moves when you use this website. It does not replace any standalone notice of privacy practices your care team may provide; have your administrator align this page with your practice's official policies.
JointWise provides structured questions and AI-generated educational output to help you understand possible next steps. It is not a substitute for an in-person or telehealth evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment plan.
Until you choose to contact the practice (for example by text), we do not ask you to enter your name, date of birth, phone number, or other traditional identifiers in order to complete the anonymous assessment flow.
During your visit, the site may store data in your browser's session storage so the experience can work across pages in the same tab session—for example your intake answers, assessment results, consent flag, and follow-up chat messages. This storage is cleared when you close the browser tab or session (depending on your browser).
Session storage stays on your device; it is not a cloud medical record and should not be relied on for long-term retention of health information.
When you submit your intake, your answers (including optional free-text fields you chose to provide) are sent to our servers to produce the assessment and may be processed by our AI provider under the configuration deployed for this site.
The service may also record a session row in our database for operational and quality purposes, including structured answers, assessment output, timing metadata, and coarse region derived from network edge metadata (for example country or region code)—not a precise street address. Logging is designed to be non-blocking so a logging failure does not prevent you from receiving a response.
Your organization should ensure vendor agreements (for example with AI and hosting providers) match how you intend to use this product if protected health information may be included in submissions.
If you open your messaging app to contact Desert Orthopedic Center scheduling, you are initiating contact with the practice using your own device and carrier. Standard texting practices and your practice's policies apply from that point forward.
We may update this page as the product evolves. The practice should review changes before deployment. Last updated: May 7, 2026.
